The Letná park is on a hill next to the Vltava river. Situated in the continuation of the Chotek Garden and the Royal Garden, this park has paths frequented by its visitors.
Its history is relatively complex. By its strategic location, the plain of Letná served for long time of military training camp. In the sixteenth century, during the reign of Emperor Rudolf II, a tunnel was opened with the intention of supplying with water the reserve of real hunting of Stromovka. Later, vineyards were planted and the surrounding quarries were explored.
The current park occupies a space of 52 hectares. The current park occupies a space of 52 hectares, full of big pines, poplars and willows. Several paths have been restored especially for skaters (skates can be rented in the park), and there are plenty of spaces for children to play.
