The protected area is characterized by its high biodiversity, consisting of the joint presence of three natural regions: the Chaco, the backbone and the Paraná jungle. The Chaco Oriental is composed of a mosaic of forests, palms, pastures, pastures and estuaries. The most characteristic species of these forests are two types of quebrachos - the red Chaqueño and the white one -, the Uruguayan and the virouó. In the lower areas, carob forests are developed, accompanied by palm trees and caranday.
There are more than 150 species of birds in the Park, which makes it a great attraction for ornithological activity. This, accompanied by the great variety of fauna where you can see capybaras, yacares, foxes, mulitas, guazunchos, jaguarundí cats and carayá monkeys. Some species are in danger of extinction, such as guazu, river wolf and marsh deer.
The area has a visitor center and a rural camping section with restrooms and drinking water.
