This national park is characterized by being the largest in the Aisén region, with 1,742,000 hectares, of which about 400,000 hectares correspond to the ancient ice of the northern ice fields. Also within the park is Mount San Valentín, with a height of approx. of 4,058 masl. The main attraction of the park is the San Rafael lagoon and the snowdrift of the same name that flows into the lagoon.

In the lagoon, ice rides are performed on small boats, from where it is possible to observe the fall of large masses of ice from the snowdrift to the lagoon.

The climate of the region is characterized by being very humid, with abundant rainfall throughout the year, being one of the wettest areas in the country, with approx. 5000 mm of annual precipitation.









Located in the Aisén region. Specifically, it is 82 km south of Puerto Chacabuco.

The sector has a wonderful topographic variety covered by bluish whites of its glacial landscape.

Its marine fauna and its canals, islands, estuaries, fjords and snowdrifts offer various tourist alternatives.

The Northern Ice Field, San Rafael Lagoon and the snowdrift of the same name make the area a favorite for foreign and national visitors, due to the amazing landscape and its ecological biodiversity, which is why it was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO
