The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is the oldest shopping center in Italy and one of Milan's main tourist attractions. Set within a double four-story arcade in the center of the city, the Galleria was named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of Italy. Kingdom of Italy. It was designed in 1861 and built by the architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1867.
