Arco da Calheta is situated in the western part of the island of Madeira.
It was one of the first places of the island to be colonized and to receive the first agricultural explorations, being also one of the freguesias richest in natural heritage, offering tranquility and unique landscapes on the valley in which it is.
Within the religious patrimony are the Chapel of Our Lady of the Conception, the Chapel of Our Lady of Loreto, the Chapel of Our Lady of Nazareth, the Parish Church of the Arch of Calheta, Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Chapel of Our Lady Lady of Life.
It is also worth visiting the wild Fajã do Mar Beach, which despite its conditioned accessibility, represents a small paradise of transparent waters.
