Frutillar has preserved the urban style imposed by the German settlers who more than 150 years ago came to populate this area, as a result of the colonization process promoted in southern Chile by the government of Manuel Bulnes in the 1850s.



Frutillar is located 26 km from Puerto Varas, 20 km from Llanquihue, 70 km from Osorno and 983 km from Santiago de Chile.



By plane

You must arrive at El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt located at 107 O'Higgins street, which offers access to International and local passengers. Another alternative is the Osorno Airport ´Carlos Hott Siebert´ located at 802 Ramírez and Valdivia streets, only local flights. In addition, there is an airfield in Frutillar Alto, a grass track in excellent condition.



By car

From inside

International Route (Lake Crossing) R 225. Currently, paving is being carried out from the town of Cascadas and Ensenada, so the lake bypass is walkable in 90%, only obstructed between the Commune of Puerto Varas and the Commune of Llanquihue.



From the north and south

Pan-American Route R5 (double track in excellent condition), connects the capital, Santiago with Puerto Montt, locating the closest point to Lake Llanquihue, in the city of Frutillar, Llanquihue and Puerto Varas.



By bus

There are daily frequencies that depart from the Rodoviarios Terminals of Temuco, Osorno, Valdivia, Puerto Varas, Puerto Montt and some inland towns. Check in the respective city.



At present, it is possible to appreciate the architectural heritage that accounts for the daily life of the settlers, which is expressed in the facades of houses, churches, hotels and public services.
