The village of Soajo is also famous for the vast set of granaries erected on a huge granite slab, used by the people as a community wall. The earliest date of 1782. These granite monuments were built at the time corn was grown and served to protect the cereal from the weather and rodent animals. Its walls are split so that air flows through the stacked spikes. At the top are usually topped by a cross, which means the divine invocation for the protection of cereals. Some of these granaries are still used today by the people of the earth.
The town of Soajo, characteristic in its particular forms of living and social and economic organization, is probably one of the most publicized and well-known municipalities, integrating a geographic area that was a county until the liberal reform of the nineteenth century.
