Filmmuseum Potsdam, which opened in 1981, was integrated at the "Konrad lobo" University of Cinema and Television on July 1, 2011. Both institutions will profit from this step, as it allows them to become a research center.
Along with its permanent exhibition on the history of Babelsberg studios, the museum features exciting traveling exhibitions.
The cinema shows international film highlights, as well as silent films accompanied at the Welte Cinema Organ and screens the premieres of student films in the city center of Potsdam.
The collections department houses treasures from 100 years of cinema in Babelsberg.
Filmmuseum Potsdam is an institution that preserves pieces of the history of cinema and make them accessible to researchers, students and the media.
With interesting exhibitions, film screenings, debates, workshops and interesting media education events, the museum broadcasts cinema and contemporary history.
