La Quita de Juan León Mera dates from 1874, houses the life and death of the author of the lyrics of the National Anthem of Ecuador. The farm has a combination of the wealth of Ecuadorian art and culture, adding an environment of extraordinary nature that makes it an icon of the country's nationality.
Among the adobe walls of the Juan León Mera Farm are preserved memories, manuscripts, paintings and photographs that speak of his great love for art.
National Historical Heritage, because it has a wonderful botanical environment with 250 species of plants between native and introduced, besides owning 7 unique endemic species in America.
