This temple is of Doric neoclassical style, with some elements characteristic of the Bavarian baroque, such as brick towers, that were provided by Toesca, and the Americanist decoration in the archivolts.
The convent of the Order of the Dominicans, whose three cloisters occupy much of the block, is a dominant part of the structure.
It was declared a National Historic Monument by Decree 5058 of July 6, 1951.
