Baía das Gatas is the name of a beautiful natural bay, a small locality and an internationally famous music festival, on the island of Sao Vicente, Cape Verde. It is less than 10 km east of the city of Mindelo, capital of the island. The name of this bay derives from the abundance in its waters of a species of shark denominated of shark-cat.
Baía das Gatas is a huge natural swimming pool, since the exit to the sea is closed by rocks that make a barrier.
